Facts About TajMahal


* The great Taj Mahal construction was started by 1631 and completed by 1653 which takes 22 years to complete
* For the transportation of the construction materials, more than 1,000 elephants were employed.
* About 28 varieties of semi-precious and semi-precious of stones were used to  construct internal work
* At the tomp(top rounded sculpture), 99 names of Allah can be found as calligraphic inscriptions(form of signs)
* About 20,000 workers were used to contruct it.
* It is not possible to construct such a tomp using marbles. Because of this reason the Taj Mahal is considered to be a world wonder.
* Shah Jehan fell in love with the beautiful Arjumand Bano Begum(Mumtaz mahal) and married her, making her his third wife.
* Shah Jehan lost Mumtaz Mahal, when she died giving birth to their 14h child.
* The important thing to discuss is Shah Jehan decided to construct another Taj Mahal in black marble on the other side of the river Yamuna and to connect the two by a bridge which is called as black Taj mahal
* Shah Jehan began to build his own tomb on
the other side of the river but the war with his sons interrupted.
