Facts About Stars

1)   A Star is born when an enormous cloud of hydrogen gas collapses until it is hot enough to burn nuclear fuel (producing tremendous amounts heat and radiation).

2)   Stars (except for the Sun) appear as tiny dots in the sky; as their light travels through the many layers of the Earth's atmosphere.

3)   The white star which we are seeing are as such big as Sun. There are larger groups of stars, called clusters.

4)   Our universe likely contains more than 100 billion galaxies, and each of those galaxies may have more than 100 billion stars.

5)   Yet on a clear, dark night Earth's sky reveals only about 3,000 stars to the naked eye.

6)   Their brightness is a factor of how much energy they put out, which is called their luminosity, and also how far away from Earth they are.

7)   Stars are cosmic energy engines that produce heat, light, ultraviolet rays, x-rays, and other forms of radiation.

8)   All remaining mass of the star is crushed into a single point, or singularity, no larger than a single atom. Here's how a black hole is born.

9)   A supernova is an exploding star. Supernovas contain at least thirty times more mass than the sun does.  The gas circles through space in cosmic dust clouds called nebulae.

10) Star can die. First it can simply burn out of gases or it can happen by a supernova.

Facts About Big Bang

1)   The universe came into existence at a definite moment in time, some 13 billion years ago, in the form of a super hot, superdense fireball of energetic radiation. This is known as the Big Bang theory.

2)   In the beginning the universe was so hot all the universal forces (gravitation, electromagnetism, etc.) were one force.

3)   The universe was very hot and concentrated in the distant past and, ever since then, space has been stretching and cooling.

4)   The Big Bang Theory was actually first theorized by a Catholic priest Georges LemaĆ®tre, who founded hubbles law

5)   The Big Bang theory is one of the most strongly supported theories in all of science. It explains the observed facts.

6)   Astronomers see galaxies moving apart from one another, space in the universe is stretching.

7)   All the matter in the universe used to be very close together (very dense) and pushed matter apart.

8)   Until the arrival of the Big Bang theory the universe was believed to be essentially eternal and unchanging, represented by the Steady State model.

9)   After its initial expansion from a singularity, the Universe cooled sufficiently to allow energy to be converted into various subatomic particles, including protons, neutrons, and electrons.

10) Many people think of the Big Bang as a kind of explosion that happened at some specific point in space, but this isn't correct, as the Universe didn't spring from one central ignition point. Instead, during the Big Bang space was first created and then stretched.

Facts About Moon

1)   Astronaut Neil Armstrong (the first man on the moon) first stepped on the moon with his left foot.

2)   The volume of the Earth's moon is the same as the volume of the Pacific Ocean.

3)   Only 59% of the moon's surface is visible from earth.

4)   The Moon has no global magnetic field. You cannot use a compass to find your direction.

5)   The moon is about 1/4 the size of the Earth. It has no atmosphere.

6)   A man that weighs 180 pounds (82 kilograms) on Earth would weigh only 30 pounds (14 kilograms) on the Moon.

7)   Every year the moon moves about 3.8cm further away from the Earth. This is caused by tidal effects.

8)   The moon rotates around the Earth in an oval shape.

9)   There are two golf balls sitting on the moon.

10) There are 140 known natural satellites, also called moons, in orbit around the various planets in our solar system, ranging from bodies larger than our own moon to small pieces of debris(the remains of something that has been destroyed).

Facts About Sun

1)   109 Earths would fit across the width of the sun.

2)   A Pinhead as Hot as the Sun Would Kill All Human Life within 150 Kilometers.

3)   The Sun is actually White. But Why people perceive it as yellow is not generally understood.

4)   If you weigh 100 lbs, your weight on the Sun would be 2707 lbs. (multiply your actual weight by 27).

5)   The sun is a big ball of  gas, 74 percent hydrogen and 24 percent helium.

6)   The sun is the closest star to Earth and is 149.60 million kilometers (92.96 million miles) away which is in the center of the solar system.

7)   The temperature at the core of the sun is 27 million degrees F (15 million degrees C).

8)   Solar Flares are known by the aerospace community to cause interruptions of GPS systems but nothing strong enough to destroy Planet Earth.

9)   The light from the sun (like all light) travels 186,282 miles per second (299,791 km) and takes about 8 and one-half minutes to reach the Earth which is 93 million miles away (150 million km).

10) The energy output from the sun is  385 billion billion megawatts, of which the Earth receives 95 billion megawatts (about the energy from 95 million typical sized nuclear power plants).

Facts About Earth

1)   Our Earth weighs around 6,600,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons (5,940 billion billion metric tons).

2)   Only 11 percent of the earth's surface is used to grow food.

3)   The Earth gets 100 tons heavier every day due to falling space dust.

4)   The coldest temperature ever measured on Earth was -129 Fahrenheit (-89 Celsius) at Vostok, Antarctica, on July 21, 1983.

5)   The warmest  temperature ever measured on Earth range from 68 degrees to 87.8 degrees F depending upon which part you measure which is in Red Sea.

6)   The earth travels through space at 660,000 miles per hour.

7)   The total surface area of the Earth is 197 million square miles.

8)   Earth doesn't take 24 hours to rotate on its axis. It is actually 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds.

9)   According to Astronomers, "The gas and dust floating in space were drawn together by gravity and they formed into a spinning disc" which is called as Earth.

10) Earth is referred to as the BLUE PLANET. WHY? Because from space, the oceans combined with our atmosphere make our planet look blue.

Facts About BlackHole

1)   Black hole is a super massive region of space from which nothing can escape like Bermuda triangle.

2)   Black hole is at the center of the Milky Way galaxy. It was invented as 'black hole'  by John Archibald Wheeler.

3)   Since no light comes out of a black hole, some say this is proof that even light is being sucked into the black hole

4)   Steven Hawking proposed that black holes were not entirely black. They emit radiation.

5)   Life doesn’t survive in a black hole because anything that falls into it will get heated to very high temperatures and compressed to zero volume.

6)   Black holes causes time to stop in space. This causes an event horizon into which objects can fall or be pulled, but those objects will never reappear.

7)   Black hole is made up of three parts. Outer Event Horizon, where there is the possibility of escape by man. Inner Event Horizon, will be alive but cant escape.  Center of the black hole Singularity, the end.

8)   Black holes are the cold remnants(something left over) of former stars, so dense that no matter not even light is able to escape their powerful gravitational pull.

9)   The nearest black hole is 1,600 light years away. That is about 16 quadrillion kilometers for Earth.

10) Most black holes are formed from the death of large stars (larger than the sun) that run out of fuel and cannot sustain its nuclear reaction.
