Facts About Thunder and Lightning

1)   Cumulonimbus cloud, which is nothing but an extremely dense, vertically developed charged with electricity causes Thunderstorm and lightning.

2)   The upper portion is positively charged and the middle and lower portions are charged negatively. Discharges takes place between clouds when electricity voltage is large causes lightning.

3)   Rumbles(long rolling sound) of thunder occurs when the electric current in the lightning discharge produces a large amount of heat. This results in the rapid expansion of the local air.

4)   Lighting will have an high impact where Thunder won't do. Hence, it is pretty important to be aware of lightning instead of thunder.

5)   1,800 thunderstorms are taking place all around the world at any time. Which means 16 million a year.

6)   Thunderstorms generates lightening always away from the raining areas.

7)   It will be predicted that lightning and thunder occur at the same time. However,  light travels much faster than sound, owing to this, people usually feel lightning before thunder.

8)   By having the time difference between flash and thunder, the distance of the thunderstorm can be calculated.

9)   During spring and summer months, thunderstorms will occur.

10) Sea breezes, mountains can help in lifting the air to generate thunderstorms.

Facts About Earthquake

1)  Earthquake occurs when breaking and shifting of rocks beneath the Earth's surface.

2)  Earthquake is also known as movements of plates below the earth's crust.

3)  When the Earth's plates moves, the rocks in the crust gets pushed and pulled. During this process,  the friction will hold the rocks in place for years and years and when they can't take it anymore, the rocks will suddenly get cracks and shifts. This movement releases waves of energy called an earthquake.

4)  Sensitive instruments, around the world detected 500,000 earthquakes since..

5)  In which, 100,000 earthquakes are felt and 100 earthquakes could cause damage each year.

6)  The largest magnitude recorder ever is 9.5 in Chile on 1960, May 22.

7)  Due to volcanic activity, around 80 percent of the earthquakes occurs in rim of the Pacific Ocean, which is called the "Ring of Fire".

8)  The world deadliest earthquake occurred in Jan 23, 1556 in Shansi, China. 830,000 people were died approximately.

9)  Moment Magnitude Scale and Richter Magnitude Scale are used to estimate the amount of energy produced during any earthquake.

2)   Eiffel tower has elevator int it, hence people on wheelchair could also visit it.

3)   Painting process will be done every 7 years with 3 shades of brown and the darkest shade will be at bottom.

4)   The work of Eiffel Tower started on Jan 26, 1887 and was completed on Mar 31, 1889.

5)   The Eiffel Tower has two restaurants on first and second floor. Its height is measured as 24 m, which is 79 ft.

6)   The Eiffel Tower will be six inches taller in summer than winter. This is due to the fact that steel gets contracts when it is cold and expands when it is hot.

7)   Previously the pieces were assembled in factory with bolts, and then replaced one by one with heated rivets as it will contract during cooling creating very tight fit.

8)   72 prominent French scientists names are affixed on the sides of Eiffel Tower just under the first platform, with 18 names per side.

Facts About Ozone Layer Hole

1)  Ozone (03) is basically highly reactive and colorless gas. Each molecule of ozone layer is made up of three oxygen atoms.

2)  In the middle of 1980's, ozone layer above the Antarctic, was particularly impacted by pollution.

3)  Scientists identified in the year 1985, that there is a thinning of the ozone layer in Antartica.

4)  It is now commonly known as the depletion or ozone hole. The ozone layer over Antarctica forms each spring and lasts for 6 weeks approximately.

5)  Ozone is demolished mainly by chlorine(CL) based compounds like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), chlorinated solvents like carbon tetrachloride, as well as fire-extinguishing chemicals and halons.

6)  It was estimated that 1 chlorine atom could destroy 1,00,000 ozone molecules. Halons emits bromine(BR) atoms, which even more possibility of destroying ozone.

7)  Chlorine formed from swimming pools, industrial plants, sea salt, and volcanoes does not goes up to stratosphere as they combined with water, which causes no effect.

8)  Above atmosphere, the three-oxygen-atom of ozone forms the ozone layer, which helps in shielding the life of the earth from the sun's UV (ultraviolet) radiations.

9)  About 90% of CFC's are emitted by industrialized countries in the parts of Northern Hemisphere, which included United States and Europe.

10) Without the protective layer of ozone of stratosphere, UV radiation will cause numerous health problems like skin cancers and immune suppression in humans.

Facts About Antarctica Melting Ice

1)   In Antarctica, if all the ice are melted, then the sea levels of the world would rise about sixty one  meters which is 200 feet.

2)   The main ice in Antarctica covered landmass of 90% of the world at the South Pole and 70% of its fresh water.

3)   The specific region has been continuously warming over past 30 years. Antarctic Peninsula, in particular, one of the fastest warming place on our planet.

4)   As per U.S.Environmental Protection Agency(EPA), the sea level increased from 6 to 8 inches, which is 15 to 20 cm in the past 100 years, due to the melting of Antarctica ice.

5)   The West Antarctic Ice Sheet, is about the size of Greenland, which contains 10 % of all the ice in Antarctica.

6)   The research for 40 years of satellite images of West Antarctic ice, which have been noticed that there is a rapid ice loss for the past few decades.

7)   The positive information which we have is that the average temperature around Antarctica is -37°C, hence there is no danger of melting ice.

8)   Data collected from space by NASA's Grace satellite shows that the Antarctica is losing more than a 100 cubic km (24 cubic miles) of ice each year from 2002.

9)   We have a question that how that's possible for surface melting to decrease, but for the continent to lose mass anymore? The answer for this is the fact that the ice could flow without melting.

10) In the year 1995, the Inter governmental Panel on Climate Change declared a report that the sea level is increasing by 20 inches. 20 inches is not a smallest amount, it could have a big impact on coastal cities during storms.

Facts About Nibiru(Planet-X)

1)  It is Hypothesized as the 10th planet in our solar system is reported to be one and a half times the size of Pluto and 4 times the size of Jupiter, and we are just a tiny peanut compared to Nibiru.

2)  This threatening planet on a 3600-year orbit was discovered by the ancient Mesopotamians, who named it Nibiru. Planet X is being pulled into inner solar system due to gravitation pull of outer planets.

3)  It was known also to the Mayans, who associated it with the end of their calendar "long count" in December 2012.

4)  NASA is tracking Nibiru, but that this information is being kept from the public as part of a worldwide conspiracy.

5)  Regarding Nibiru, on December 31,1983 when NASA (Western science) reported discovering this planet, much was finally confirmed for astronomers–the hypothesized cause for Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto’s irregularities of orbit was now confirmed fact.

6)  Just one year later, the newly launched IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Satellite) spotted a large mysterious object in the depths of space.

7)  Nibiru is visible every 2000 (2,160) years during its orbital pass. ( Sumerian and Mayan text both state that Nibiru is clearly visible by day as well as night )

8)  A large scale hypothetical planet that's part of our solar system with an orbit beyond that of Neptune. Was first hypothesized in 1841 when astronomers noticed Uranus did not move as predicted in it's orbit. Based on these residuals, the search for Planet X began.

9)  Nibiru is a magnetic star only of giant means and can only be seen by infared. The sun itself will protect us only for a short period of time because we will have the Sun in front of it.

10) During this time period the Earth can do a flip and go upside down or be tilted 278 degrees off of its current axis.  Our Sun behind Nibiru will take about 70% of Nibirus power as it fights it.  So we will be exposed to approximately 30% of Nibirus magnetic effects.   If this happens the oceans and the waters has to go someplace.

6)  There are numerous Mayans still living in their home regions.

7)  Some Mayans still practice blood sacrifice.

8)  Mayans used pain killers.  The last Maya state existed until 1697.

9)  There's nothing in Mayan texts that specifically says "The world is ending on December 21st, 2012".

10) According to NASA, "Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then, just as your calendar begins again on January 1, another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar."

Facts About Stars

1)   A Star is born when an enormous cloud of hydrogen gas collapses until it is hot enough to burn nuclear fuel (producing tremendous amounts heat and radiation).

2)   Stars (except for the Sun) appear as tiny dots in the sky; as their light travels through the many layers of the Earth's atmosphere.

3)   The white star which we are seeing are as such big as Sun. There are larger groups of stars, called clusters.

4)   Our universe likely contains more than 100 billion galaxies, and each of those galaxies may have more than 100 billion stars.

5)   Yet on a clear, dark night Earth's sky reveals only about 3,000 stars to the naked eye.

6)   Their brightness is a factor of how much energy they put out, which is called their luminosity, and also how far away from Earth they are.

7)   Stars are cosmic energy engines that produce heat, light, ultraviolet rays, x-rays, and other forms of radiation.

8)   All remaining mass of the star is crushed into a single point, or singularity, no larger than a single atom. Here's how a black hole is born.

9)   A supernova is an exploding star. Supernovas contain at least thirty times more mass than the sun does.  The gas circles through space in cosmic dust clouds called nebulae.

10) Star can die. First it can simply burn out of gases or it can happen by a supernova.

Facts About Big Bang

1)   The universe came into existence at a definite moment in time, some 13 billion years ago, in the form of a super hot, superdense fireball of energetic radiation. This is known as the Big Bang theory.

2)   In the beginning the universe was so hot all the universal forces (gravitation, electromagnetism, etc.) were one force.

3)   The universe was very hot and concentrated in the distant past and, ever since then, space has been stretching and cooling.

4)   The Big Bang Theory was actually first theorized by a Catholic priest Georges Lemaître, who founded hubbles law

5)   The Big Bang theory is one of the most strongly supported theories in all of science. It explains the observed facts.

6)   Astronomers see galaxies moving apart from one another, space in the universe is stretching.

7)   All the matter in the universe used to be very close together (very dense) and pushed matter apart.

8)   Until the arrival of the Big Bang theory the universe was believed to be essentially eternal and unchanging, represented by the Steady State model.

9)   After its initial expansion from a singularity, the Universe cooled sufficiently to allow energy to be converted into various subatomic particles, including protons, neutrons, and electrons.

10) Many people think of the Big Bang as a kind of explosion that happened at some specific point in space, but this isn't correct, as the Universe didn't spring from one central ignition point. Instead, during the Big Bang space was first created and then stretched.
